A new chapter for Michigan's anglers

One voice for every rod & reel

From the trout streams of the Upper Peninsula to the open water of the Great Lakes, Michigan's fishing community has always carried more than one current. MAC is bringing those voices together.

Michigan's fishing community is as diverse as its waters, and rivers, inland lakes, and the Great Lakes all support unique traditions, challenges, and opportunities.

The Michigan Anglers Consortium has been formed to bring these voices together under one unified organization dedicated to protecting, promoting, and strengthening fishing across the state, uniting clubs, charter captains, individual anglers, and fishing-related businesses behind a common mission.

The Mission

Every Sector. One Seat at the Table.

MAC's mission is simple but powerful: engage the Michigan DNR and the State Legislature by fostering open communication, ensuring broad stakeholder involvement, and advocating for policies that benefit all anglers.

By uniting individuals, fishing clubs, charter captains, and fishing-related businesses, MAC ensures that every sector of Michigan's angling community has an equal seat at the table.

What MAC Does

Three Ways We Stand for Anglers

01

A Collective Voice in Lansing

MAC engages a contracted lobbying firm to monitor legislation, build relationships with lawmakers, and pursue proactive initiatives, combining grassroots input with expert representation.

02

Bridging Every Watershed

Rivers, inland lakes, and the Great Lakes each have their own traditions and challenges. MAC promotes collaboration across all three, ensuring no single sector speaks alone.

03

Education & Engagement

Through events, community outreach, and regular updates, MAC keeps anglers informed and involved on the issues that shape Michigan's aquatic resources and angling heritage.

Looking Ahead

It Will Be Your Voice That Decides

The support of anglers, clubs, and businesses is the building block of the Consortium. But when you are called to email or call your legislators, it is your voice that will help secure the passage of HB 5093 and other important fisheries legislation.

Your engagement is essential to making a real impact on Michigan's angling future.
